The Town, along with its contractor, Noraa Concrete will begin the project on Monday, May 13, with completion by late July 2019. The project site is on Hwy. 40 south of CR 8 to the north of Old Victory Road. Click on the link to view the project plan.
This project goal is to create safe pedestrian crossings on Highway 40 for school children, adults, locals and visitors. In addition to the safety of pedestrian in the safe harbor provided within the medians, the work will provide much-needed traffic calming through our downtown.
Project funding comes from the Town of Fraser, and grants administered by the Colorado Department of Public Safety - namely Safe Routes to School and the Highway Safety Improvements Program. The contractor has extensive experience with traffic control on projects of larger scope and with similar construction as in this project.
There will be single lane restrictions, causing minor delays during phases of the work, but no detours are anticipated. All intersections will remain open during construction. Please plan additional time during your commute to travel through the construction zone. Construction will take place during daylight hours, but not before 7 a.m. and no later than 7 p.m. No night work or weekend work is expected.
We look forward to the project being underway, and more importantly, completed this summer. When complete, traffic will continue to be allowed to make left turns off of Hwy. 40 at intersections, traffic will be slowed and safe school and other pedestrian crossings will be attained.
